St.Wilfrid's Church Spire .

The spire is in danger of collapse so the Church of England have launched an appeal to save this beautiful grade 1 listed building .
At the same time they intend to give £Billion in reparations for the slave trade . Not sure they have their priorities right. .

Parishioners have launched an audacious attempt to raise £400,000 for the work with the help of the local community.

"Our own parish funds built up to maintain the church will contribute to the costs, but the scale of the essential repairs that are needed means we have to reach out across the community for support."

As you sit, pondering over progressive politics for, and against, this issue, do consider this …..

A couple of years ago, Bolton Council contributed over £4.2 million to The Bolton Council of Mosques to cover new building and maintenance.

Also why you are pondering how much to give, spare a thought for me, The roof is leaking at plum towers and we have arranged for a builder to come and fix it, he recommended we take the chimney down and that there is no public funding allowance to cover the cost and that a good idea is to open a 'fund me' scheme but don't expect too much support,

It was on the net from Bolton Council in reply to a freedom of information request by a Bolton resident.
The £4.2 million was said to have been granted over the last two years.

The council from 2005-13 contributed over £4million to MULTI faiths of which just over £1million went to the Muslim faith.

If there is Muslim bashing, is it any wonder when you see a MINORITY of them doing things like supporting terrorist organisations, committing acts of anti-semitism which include the desicration of Jewish graves, committing bomb ourages which include killing people of their own faith and even murdering members of their faith in what they called "honour" killings!

Indeed. St. Wilfrid’s is in Standish. It’s a ‘Standish’ church. Not even in the same diocese as Wigan churches.
Although, according to the council’s brag, It’s “Wigan’s 16th century church” and “Wigan’s grade 1 listed building” etc., …… until it needs money spending on it !
